CLEVELAND - Beachwood-based Liberty Bank, N.A. today announced three management promotions. Donald M. Waytes, Jr. was promoted from Commercial Credit Analyst to Vice President and Senior Credit Analyst; Jay W. Valerian was promoted from Assistant Vice President/Manager, Beachwood Office to Assistant Vice President/Commercial Lending Officer; and, Brian Gray was promoted from Business Development & Manager - Solon Office to Assistant Vice President/Manager, Solon Office.

In addition, Kelly Cheetham, Assistant Vice President, relocated from her position as Manager - Twinsburg Office to Manager - Beachwood Office.

Donald M. Waytes, Jr. joined Liberty Bank in 2006. He has worked in a variety of business banking, investment management and commercial credit departments for a number of Northeast Ohio banks. A resident of Painesville, he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Lake Erie College and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Cleveland State University.

Jay W. Valerian joined the Bank in 2004, first managing its Solon office and then the Bank’s Beachwood office. Previously, he was a mortgage loan officer for Smythe Cramer’s HMAC, where he was responsible for solicitation and processing of residential mortgage loan applications. Prior to HMAC, he was a High School English teacher and baseball coach in the Cincinnati Public School system. A resident of University Heights, Mr. Valerian is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He continued his education at Xavier University in Masters in Education studies.

Prior to joining Liberty Bank’s Solon office in 2007, Brian Gray served as Assistant Manager and Licensed Investment Representative with a Cleveland area bank. A resident of Lyndhurst, Mr. Gray is a member of the Solon Kiwanis Club and the Solon Chamber of Commerce. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree and an Associate of Applied Science degree from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, with a minor in Business Finance.

Kelly Cheetham joined Liberty Bank in 2005. Prior to managing the Bank's Twinsburg branch, she served as Sales Development Administrator with an Akron-based bank where she was awarded three "First in Service" awards. She also held prior positions in sales and marketing with Automated Packaging Systems and with MBNA Marketing Systems. A resident of Bainbridge, Ms. Cheetham earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Kent State University.
